Skatelift

Portland has a pretty substantial skateboarding scene, something I learned pretty quickly after moving there. Of course, to add the Portlandia craziness to it, some skateboarders do a ride down one of the windy hills just west of downtown Portland... at night! More power to you, folks.

I met up with Bobby Bonaparte and Anthony Villella, the guys behind the t-shirt design company SKATE LIFT, at their workshop in Portland, Oregon. Their company stems from their interest and involvement with skateboarding here in Portland and LA. Not only is "skatelift" a skateboarding reference, but it also represents their desire to spread a positive message and participate in the global consciousness.

I had fun shooting some photos of them in their various shirt designs. They also showed me a bit of their screen printing process. Each shirt is hand made and unique due to the variations in colors.

They just released their winter line and I've got my eye on that Holidaze t-shirt. Make sure you check out their website!
